Taking some of the Pressure off
Moving
- There is nothing that can seem
more stressful than the period
when you are trying to buy or
sell a home. Moving can also be
an incredibly rewarding
experience when you take care of
a few simple things up front.
Here, we will collect some tips
that might help take away some
of the pressures you face.
- Use realistic time
contingencies
- Time periods and dates are
important parts of real estate
contracts, but using unrealistic
time constraints will only slow
down the entire home-transfer
process. You don't want to hurry
things because this will only
create frustration down the
road.
- Some examples of time-based
contingencies are: contract
acceptance, property
inspections, transfer
disclosure, escrow closing, and
possession. While it is
important to not let these items
drag out, you will want to
create a timetable that everyone
can follow. Try to get as many
of these tasks completed up
front, because plenty of other
constraints will develop as you
get closer to moving.
- Steering clear of unrealistic
time contingencies will not only
make your life easier, but it
will move you more quickly to
your goal: buying or selling
your home.
